Autism Video

As you all know Connor is autistic. A few weeks ago I started an autism support group on facebook so that we all can share how we are doing or what we are going through. Last night as I was looking at stuff online I came across www.whatyououghttoknow.com. The guy that makes the videos has an awesome video on autism. His nephew is autistic and he did an awesome and very informative video with some humor in it. I was very thankful for that video and I have posted a link below to watch. You have got to watch it!

Life

Life has been so crazy! We have had so much to do and the time just flies. I don't seem to have enough time to do everything. I forgot to blog and forget to journal. Before I know it, its night and its time to go to bed. So people if you think I have forgotten about you I have not. Also I have been trying this thing called coupon sense. I gave it a trial run today and I did well so far. I have saved 49% on my groceries. Its too soon say how terrific it is for me, but my sister in law Yvette loves it! She is an instuctor so I was going to have a workshop. Let me know if you are interested.

Lincoln- Deer Valley Campus. He works three 12 hour shifts. He works every other weekend. Except this week we works 2 weekends in a row. We will be moving at the end of next month if they give us the apartment. We are waiting on a credit check. We helped Jason and Laurissa move into their new house. Yea, they have a house!!! Its a beautiful house, they are blessed greatly. This past Saturday we had our ward trunk-or-treat and we were busy getting ready for that all day and running our own arrands as well. Sunday, Nan, Spencer's sister, had her baby Brooklyn blessed. So we went out to Scottsdale for that. It was a long, long, very long weekend. But we had fun with the Haws'!

Why I cannot vote for Obama

I got this e-mail from Jolyn Cavey and I thought It was well informed. Thank you Jolyn!

Why I (A Black Man) Can't Vote For Obama

Why I Can't Vote For Obama
By Huntley Brown

Dear Friends,

A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating..

First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness.

I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.

I can't vote black because I am black, I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record.

His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing.
Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason planned parenthood gives him a 100 % rating.
There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.
There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him.
There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill.
There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.
There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion.
There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Lets take a look at the practice he wanted to continue.

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedure
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.
(Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him.

There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.

Think about this: you can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.

Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?

Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 "Go and make disciples of all nations." This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you, talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a

1. Commitment to the White Community

2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community .
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that?

Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.

This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.

A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if its a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.

Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation?

In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.

Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king.

First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 "Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."
Then God says
1 Samuel 1:18 " When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day." 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles." 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, "Listen to them and give them a king."

Here is what we know for sure.

God is not schizophrenic

He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.

Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four supreme court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.

Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,

1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.

2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Blessings,
Huntley Brown

His mom was Spencer's social studies teacher in junior high. Then we were able to see the Snowflake Temple and it was gorgeous. We had a nice time just our family.

Visiting Teaching

Oh my gosh, visiting teaching was soooo awesome today! We all have kids, my companion and I and one of the sisters we teach. We went to visit her and it happened to be a half day at school so Rylee was home, and my companion had kids home as well from school. So all our kids, except Connor got to go over and man did we have a blast. We all got to talk about problems we were having. All the while our kids had so much fun playing. We didn't have any problems with the kids. We all had fun when we were done. We were there for an hour and a half! We all really need to get together and have play dates!!!!

It's a sad, sad day...

I was reading Lindsay Lohan's blog on her calling out VP candidate Palin just to see what she had to say. Its a sad sad day when you see that people blindly follow people just because they are a certain color or you think that they just talk pretty or whatever. Some of the comments made on her blog were outrageous. There was a black guy calling us racist when all along he was calling us names and mocking the way we look. Racism goes both ways and as far as I am concern he was the racist one. I mean how did some comments that Lohan made that were not true, but how did it turn into a debate about who is better whites or blacks. I am sorry but you can't tell me I am racist just because I am not voting for a black guy. His color has nothing to do with my decision. My decision is based off his character, what he stands for, and how well he knows the people that supports him. I am sorry I relate better to Palin. She is a mother, especially a mother of a handicapped child, which I am. She has learned the balance between motherhood and her career. She has had to face challenges with her children that most of the world is facing. And as for McCain, I respect him for what he has gone through in the past. I respect him for all the years he has put into politics. He has a good resume behind him and has more experience than Obama. I know Palin doesn't have as much experience, but she isnt running for President like Obama she is just second. I don't know why this all has to do with racism, its sad that people think it has to do with it. I am just sticking to my beliefs is all I am saying.

Learning

So I have been getting an itch to take some classes at the college, but we dont have the money right now to do that. I can feel my head going ugh. I needed a challenge, so the other day I was looking to see if there was such a thing as free language classes. So I googled it and this company popped up. You can download it to your computer for free. And it is legit! So I was scrolling to see what languages jumped at me and Finnish was one. I chose this because its an odd language, nothing like it no where else is it spoken but Finland and second was because of geneology purposes. So I am learning Finish. As of right now I know all the days of the week, colors, some animals and some greetings. I am so excited and the challenge has been exhilarating!! So my head is very happy and we arent out any money and I get to do this whenever I want in the comforts of my home!

Know This, That Every Soul Is Free

Know this, that every soul is free to choose his life and what he'll be; For this eternal truth is giv'n: That God will force no man to heav'n. He'll call, persuade, direct aright, And bless with wisdom, love, and light, In nameless ways be good and kind, But never force the human mind. Freedom and reason make us men; Take these away, what are we then? Mere animals, and just as well The beasts may think of heav'n or hell. May we no more our pow'rs abuse, But ways of truth and goodness choose; Our God is pleased when we improve His grace and seek his perfect love.

This hit the other day when singing it. I think it is my new favorite hymn.

Majestic

Today as I was driving down first avenue which leads right straight to the Temple. So as I was driving toward the Temple head on I noticed that the air was clean and that you could see the mountains really clear. It made it look like they were just behind the temple. So there was God's creation beautiful as ever behind the house of the Lord. As I was getting closer just passing through Mesa Drive then all of of a sudden the temple was lit by the sun but everything else remained in the shadow of the looming dark clouds that threatened storm. Then on the way home tonight there was this amazing lightening storm. It was breath taking. Lightening was striking every which way and lighting up the sky with streaks of blue and white! There is where the true beauty of the desert lies. There is nothing else like it anywhere.

Life

Life can be interesting sometimes. As I watch everyone and their struggles it reminds you to pray. When you pray you can feel peace and you remember your blessings. There are a lot of people around me going through trials just as Spencer and I are. Lately I have been just thinking about ours and why ours aren't even cared about by others. Today I read about a couple who were in a private plane crash and one of them is burned over about 38 % his body and the wife was burned around 80 % of her body. Her kids are in Utah with family and that has to be hard. Hard on the people taking care of them and hard on the kids. A sister that has the three older, and has a newborn reminded me of Pres. Hinckley's saying by his father, "Forget yourself and go to work." I need to do more service to help myself feel better and so that my family can be blessed. Also along with that I need to stop murmuring about my trials. Even though they come one right after another. They are learnig experiences and this life isnt meant to be easy.

Raining Days

Man today the storm kicked my butt! I kept passing out watching the olympics. When a storm comes in I get all drugged like and I can't stay consious. Its a pain. Poor Rylee was trying to play with me and I kept falling asleep on her. Luckily as soon as it started raining it lifted hte heaviness off of me and I felt a little better. But I do love the rain and the way the gray clouded sky makes the things that are green look even greener.

Movie Night

Last night we had a blast. Our friend Russ came over and Crystal came over as soon as her parents were home so that she could put her kids in bed and come over. It was about 9 pm when she finally came over. We put on the new kid and we ate pizza. Sounds funny cause it wasn't the weekend or anything. We had the best time, I hope we can do again sometime. We took a picture of Russ holding a baby doll and feeding it. Rylee kept passing her dolls off to him and subconsciously he just held it there and fed it its bottle. It was sweet! Anyhow I hope we can do this again and with more friends ie Rissa and some others!

School Days!

This week has been nice. The kids started school wednesday!! They have had so much fun riding the bus and meating new friends. Spencer and I have been enjoying not having kids for part of the morning. At first we didn't know what to do with ourselves. But of course slowly things that need to be done come along. Spencer has been studying to become a registered respiratory therapist. He studies for part of the morning. I also was able to finish the last novel in the twilight saga, "Breaking Dawn". Great saga!!! Its nice to be able to have some along time with Spencer. We never have it. And we have never had it in our marriage. We got pregnant with Connor right away and when I was pregnant, I worked when he was home and I was home when he worked. So...We actually get to have sometime to ourselves!!!

And it said that shipping was free but I am not sure if it really is cause its being shipped straight to me. But I am sooooooo excited for Breaking Dawn!!

Humility

Don't you hate when you are put in your place with your scripture study? I just opened my scriptures randomly to read to my children. Well, just previously someone had really made me frustrated and I have been working on this for sometime. It is an on going thing. Well, when I opened up it was 2nd Nephi. It is Nephi's psalm as I like to call it. It made me feel so much better but it also brought me to my knees. I have been working hard everyday to not be frustrated with this person ever since I read this. I have learned many lessons in patience. I hope I am able to over come this and I will always remember this experience.

Independence Day

This morning we went to our ward building for a 4th of July breakfast. Spencer was in charge of cooking so we had to go early. He was the man that cooked the food on a grill. Since he was doing that I helped set up the tables and chairs. The kids tried helping. They are picking up on that now and I am excited. The food was great! Brother Coullier said he was happy not to see any hair in his food referring to Spencer being bald. We had Brother George talk about patriotism and that was a good talk and then we ate. It was simple yet fun and the food was delicious. The table center pieces were adorable. They had bendy straws that were decorated as sparklers. All the kids loved it. After Spencer left to work, Kent and Valerie went over to Carlos and Yvettes pool and invited the kids and I over to eat swim. Kent BBQed steak, burgers and hot dogs. They had all sorts of yummy sides. It was fun. Valerie is always fun to talk with. The kids had fun swimming with their kids. Then a monsoon hit and everything started blowing away. The kids ate and we had to take off back home because it was passed their bed time. It ened with fireworks from Mesquite High and from Mesa Community College. They were good. Thank you to our Vets and our Troops to making this Country what it is today!

Irrigation Play

About two weeks ago we actually got a good head of water for irrigation. Crystal Mabb came over with her sons Hunter and Chandler to play. Well, after a while Chandler was quiet so we looked and when we went outside we found him swimming in the irrigation. He had a ball that he kept throwing and swimming after. It was soooo funny we had to take pictures. It was hard to be mad at him for getting into cause it was so cute.

Connor's Summer Wrestling Camp 2008

Connor went to Mesquite High School for a summer wrestling camp. He had fun for the most part. His coaches were from Mesquite High and really helpful. They were good with the kids. Connor won three 2nd place ribbons. He wasn't happy because he couldn't have a blue one. Blue was for first place and it broke his heart that he couldn't get a blue one. So he said with the league he is going to try to win blue.

A Cooler Weekend

This weekend we went up to Flagstaff for my step dad's family reunion. It was pretty awesome. His family is cool. They talk to everybody and anybody. We got to stay at a Day's Inn in town while the reunion was at a campsite. Our hotel gave us free waffles, ceral, orange juice, toast, muffins and donuts for breakfast. The waffles were belgian waffles. They were awesome. Anyway, we drove up in my van Friday. It was my mom, me, Richelle (my youngest sister), my step brother Seth and my kids. Connor and Rylee made friends. There were tons of kids for them to play with which also meant more the trouble they could get into but it was fun for them. Connor made a girl friend named savanna. She had big brown eyes and light brown hair. She was his age and the cutest thing. Rylee met a little boy her age named Andrew and they were inseparable. He was blonde with big blue eyes. We will going to his birthday party this weekend. The kids can't wait. It was a lot more fun for the kids than I thought it would be. They also has a fun time attacking Grandpa Mike.

Different Quotes from Relief Society Message

Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “We lived in the presence of God our Holy Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, in a premortal existence. … We were told:

“ ‘We will make an earth whereon these may dwell;

“ ‘And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them;

“ ‘And they who keep their first estate [that is, to be obedient in the premortal existence] shall be added upon; … and they who keep their second estate [that is, to be obedient during mortal life] shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever’ [Abraham 3:24–26]. …

“… You were taught and prepared for the circumstances you would personally encounter in mortality. … Your memory of premortal life would be kept from you to assure that it would be a valid test, but there would be guidance given to show you how to live. Our Father’s plan for salvation in this life with the opportunity of returning to Him would be called the gospel of Jesus Christ”

Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president: “Women have distinct assignments given to them from before the foundation of the world. … We know that in the great premortal conflict we sided with our Savior, Jesus Christ, to preserve our potential to belong to eternal families. We know we are daughters of God, and we know what we are to do. … We believe in the formation of eternal families. … We know that the commandment to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. … We have faith that with the Lord’s help we can be successful in rearing and teaching children. These are vital responsibilities in the plan of happiness, and when women embrace those roles with all their hearts, they are happy!”

Yea For Preschool!!

Yesterday and today we went did a preschool screening for Rylee. I didn't know how it was going to turn out. I thought maybe they would say oh she doesn't qualify, but she did. They said that a lot of her words are hard to understand and that she herself didn't understand stuff being said to her. She has communication problems. I am excited for her because Connor is going to be gone all day and she won't have him at home. This will give her something for her to do. She needs the social interaction as well. We are excited for Rylee!!

Life

Last night I helped Crystal deliver her mom's pug puppies. I went over to her mom's house for dinner about 5 pm and not long after we got there the mom pug, Lady went into labor. It took her about 2 hours for her to get the first one out and Crystal was worried that it was dead. But we had a contest to see if it was going to be alive and what gender it was goig to be. I won. I said it was going to be alive and it was going to be a girl and I said it was probably breech. Crystal thought it was dead and it was a boy. I was awesome. We had to tie off the ambilical cord and disinfect it and then suction the puppies and get them warm. They were so cute!! Connor had lots of questions about why the little puppy came out of the bigger puppy.

Scottsdale Healthcare

Spencer got a call for an interview with Scottsdale Healthcare. We are so excited. We are just praying for if this is the right place for him to work. I hope everything goes well for him in the interview. He already kind of knows the day crew there and knows how things go at Osborn. He just doesn't know Shea. They both should be great though. Pray for us. Also pray that there will be houses left to rent when he gets a job.

Graduated

Spencer graduated almost a month to the day today and still no sign of a job. I guess I am a little down cause things are not going my way so I am going to pout. I think the Lord is used to me pouting cause I do. And as soon as I am done pouting and act like a big girl then things are ok. He has his own time I know and he has his time when he thinks its better for us to receive blessings. I just need to know how things are going to go so I can plan the future.

More Houses

This morning we looked at another house that is for rent. I loved it it was really cute and efficient. I really like this one and the first one we saw. The both have different advantages and disadvantages. Oh well, I am sure we will figure this out. Plus we are still waiting to hear from the hospitals to see if Spencer gets a job.

House For Rent

We went to look at one of the houses for rent and we have liked. We got a hold of the lady and she said she was just down the street and I thought Spencer wasn't going to get to go but he finished his CRT National Board test early and got to go. It was a nice house! It comes with a fridge and a washer and dryer. A microwave and a swingset/ jungle gym. It has a fire place in the front room. The master bath has a walk in closet and a separate shower from the bathtube that is hot tub style. She said she likes us and that is worth more than anyone that comes in with a bundle of money. She said she would like to rent to us but we can't wait too long because she has to get it rented. I am so excited I hope we can make it work to rent it.

This Weekend's Craziness

This weekend was crazy. We had family come into town and family over a lot. There were kids running around and screaming. It was fun for our kids because they had friends to play with (their cousins visiting). On they other hand I was stressed and PMSing at the sametime with all these kids. We got to go to a birthday party and then we went to Peter Piper Pizza and then on to sally's beauty supply. Then we had a hair coloring party. We called Rissa up and asked her to come because she wasn't have a good weekend either. So we colored Rissa's hair red along with is dying your hair red it dyes your natural color darker. It looked awesome. Sunday family came over again and then Monday Joe and Renda came over. By the time Joe and Renda got there my kids were sooooo over stimulated that they were grumpy. I feel bad that they were grumpy for them but at least they got to see them. My mom sent some dresses for Rylee that she made and Rylee absolutely loves them! Then Spencer's other sister had to come up here and because her husband had a whole in his heart and they had to plug it. But she is easy when she is around her kids are older and she only had one kid with her who is funny and she spent most of the time at St. Joe's with her husband. So we have had a crazy week!!!

Ha Ha

For a split second we thought about buying a house rather than renting...ha ha to ourselves. The payments would be higher than thought because we don't have a down payment. Dang I don't know if we could ever have a down payment. Oh well, back to looking at rentals.

Working Out

So the Carroll's are training to run a 5k in June and we have a work out routine to do. At first it was kicking my butt, but now its getting better. The more I do the better I feel. Especially thanks to Yvette's treadmill. Those things are awesome! My knees don't hurt when I run on it and since I am inside my asthma doesn't act up as much. Its still bothering me but not as bad. Kim thanks for the work out its awesome!!!

Yeah!

Well we are off today to get some boxes! I am going to get some from UPS today then I will check to see if I can get any from walmart tomorrow. We used to get our boxes from Dillard's DC for free when Spencer worked there. Connor has a play date with his friend Andrew and she is taking him from 1 - 4 I can get a lot done. I then take her son from 10- 3:30 on tuesday. We are swaping!!! Its going to be great Connor is so excited!

Finally Kind Of A Date

Today Spencer got home way early from his clinicals and he rented Disturbia. I thought it was going to be a completely different movie than it was. But it was nice because we put the kids down for bed and watched a movie. Darlene and Ryan were at a concert, so it was just actually just the 2 of us for once and nobody else. It was nice.

Almost To The End

Exactly one week from today Spencer will be graduating from school! Oh ya, we can't wait. Now I have to get my butt into gear and start packing again. I kind of put it off. Its hard packing when you have kids that want to know what is going on and wanting to help, but being too much of a help. Well, Its almost to the end!!!

Connor Is Cooking!

Today, Connor decided he was going to help himself and Rylee to some corn dogs. I could hear them talking in the kitchen and then I heard the microwave go off and Connor came in and said that he cooked corn dogs in the microwave. I went in there expecting them to be fried but they were perfectly cooked! He even got the mustard and ketchup out and served Rylee! Wow, is he growing up or what?!

Connor Turned 5!!

For Connor's birthday, we took a cake to his class since he was given snacks that day. It was a Transformers Cake. He was so excited to pick it up, he just kept staring at it. The, when Spencer got home Connor opened his presents. He got a some cars, and books. I think the cute one that he got was a book called CTR Boy from Laurissa. She called and said she had a present for Connor so we stopped by and picked it up from her on our way home from Dinner. We went to Souper Salad and Connor got to eat free since it was his birthday. Connor told the cashier and she said oh its your birthday!! And Spencer said ya you need to charge us for him since he is 5 now and she said oh no its his birthday I won't charge you. It's Connor's favorite restaurant. Then Connor wanted to share his birthday cake with our home teachers. They really are the best. I hope they stick around for a while longer. But Connor was happy with what we were able to do for his birthday even though we didn't have money for a big party, since Spencer is in clinicals right now and we are missing $400 a month. Next year we will do something a little more for him.

Influences

There is a crew of firemen that shop at the Fry's that we shop at. Most of the time they are there when we are there and it gets Connor excited and he loves to talk to them. He tells them that he is going to be a firefighter (I have a politically correct kid I guess) and he is going to drive the truck. He has to stop and see the truck everytime. It gets him all excited all over again everytime he sees it. The guys usually will stop and chat with them.

My Testimony

Ok, so I am one of those people who are shy and won't just come out and say something when I should. Its hard for me to get up and share my testimony in sacrament meeting so I thought I would put it on my blog so that my friends and family can see. First of all I just want to express my gratitude for everything I know my Father in Heaven has done for us. We have had so many blessings. I know I wouldn't be able to do the things I do without him. I am so glad that I was born a member of this church, I have seen so many people lost without the gospel. You have support in the gospel, you have love and friends. I am so grateful that Christ atoned for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. I know that God the Father and his son Jesus Christ live and that they are separate beings. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God as an instrument to re-establish the church and to restore the Priesthood to the Earth. I believe that we still receive revelation even in this day. I believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be testaments of Christ. I am so grateful for the Pioneers that sacrificed to pave the way for us. I am thankful for the Apostles and Prophets we have today to be the mouthpiece of the Savior. Its amazing what family scripture study and prayer can do for a family. It has helped me greatly with the children. Its amazing to see them learning about Jesus and prophets in the scripture and understanding the stories and how important they are to us. I leave these things with my friends and family in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

We are Finally Seeing Green

Connor's tomatoes finally started to sprout today! It was an Easter surprise, we didn't think anything would come of it. Connor was really excited!

A Week Of Easter

This week was a whole week of Easter activities. On Wednesday we colored eggs. Rissa and her kids: Hunter, Preston, and Alexis and then Crystal and her kids: Hunter and Chandler came over and colored eggs with us. We tried to be patient mommies, but when you have that many kids at one table all trying to do the same thing it gets a little hectic. Luckily Spencer came over and helped Connor a few minutes before he had to leave for work. Then to give us a break and let the eggs dry Ryan took the kids outside and did rocket balloons with them. They had a blast with that they ran all over the yard chasing balloons. It was a life saver. Friday, we went to the store to get plastic eggs and candy for our Carroll Easter egg hunt. We got all the eggs picked out and got home and realized that we didn't get enough eggs for the hunt. So back to Walmart we went and we took Charlee and Baylee with us. We got some princess eggs and some transformer eggs. Also we made jello jigglers in a jelly bean mold, they were fun and tasty! Saturday was our big hunt for eggs. We had tons of fun with the cousins that were able to come. Some had a lot of candy in the middle. Rylee ate all of her candy in one night. She is going to be one sick little girl.
