We went on a trip since we have never done a family trip. We decided to go up to Carlos and Yvette's cabin. It was nice the weather was perfect. Russell came up with us and we visited his family. His mom was Spencer's social studies teacher in junior high. Then we were able to see the Snowflake Temple and it was gorgeous. We had a nice time just our family.

Visiting Teaching

Oh my gosh, visiting teaching was soooo awesome today! We all have kids, my companion and I and one of the sisters we teach. We went to visit her and it happened to be a half day at school so Rylee was home, and my companion had kids home as well from school. So all our kids, except Connor got to go over and man did we have a blast. We all got to talk about problems we were having. All the while our kids had so much fun playing. We didn't have any problems with the kids. We all had fun when we were done. We were there for an hour and a half! We all really need to get together and have play dates!!!!

He was given the weekend to think about it and then call them back on Monday! Well of course the answer is yes!!! We are so stoked!! We can finally move forward!

It's a sad, sad day...

I was reading Lindsay Lohan's blog on her calling out VP candidate Palin just to see what she had to say. Its a sad sad day when you see that people blindly follow people just because they are a certain color or you think that they just talk pretty or whatever. Some of the comments made on her blog were outrageous. There was a black guy calling us racist when all along he was calling us names and mocking the way we look. Racism goes both ways and as far as I am concern he was the racist one. I mean how did some comments that Lohan made that were not true, but how did it turn into a debate about who is better whites or blacks. I am sorry but you can't tell me I am racist just because I am not voting for a black guy. His color has nothing to do with my decision. My decision is based off his character, what he stands for, and how well he knows the people that supports him. I am sorry I relate better to Palin. She is a mother, especially a mother of a handicapped child, which I am. She has learned the balance between motherhood and her career. She has had to face challenges with her children that most of the world is facing. And as for McCain, I respect him for what he has gone through in the past. I respect him for all the years he has put into politics. He has a good resume behind him and has more experience than Obama. I know Palin doesn't have as much experience, but she isnt running for President like Obama she is just second. I don't know why this all has to do with racism, its sad that people think it has to do with it. I am just sticking to my beliefs is all I am saying.

Learning

So I have been getting an itch to take some classes at the college, but we dont have the money right now to do that. I can feel my head going ugh. I needed a challenge, so the other day I was looking to see if there was such a thing as free language classes. So I googled it and this company popped up. You can download it to your computer for free. And it is legit! So I was scrolling to see what languages jumped at me and Finnish was one. I chose this because its an odd language, nothing like it no where else is it spoken but Finland and second was because of geneology purposes. So I am learning Finish. As of right now I know all the days of the week, colors, some animals and some greetings. I am so excited and the challenge has been exhilarating!! So my head is very happy and we arent out any money and I get to do this whenever I want in the comforts of my home!

Know This, That Every Soul Is Free

Know this, that every soul is free to choose his life and what he'll be; For this eternal truth is giv'n: That God will force no man to heav'n. He'll call, persuade, direct aright, And bless with wisdom, love, and light, In nameless ways be good and kind, But never force the human mind. Freedom and reason make us men; Take these away, what are we then? Mere animals, and just as well The beasts may think of heav'n or hell. May we no more our pow'rs abuse, But ways of truth and goodness choose; Our God is pleased when we improve His grace and seek his perfect love.

This hit the other day when singing it. I think it is my new favorite hymn.

Majestic

Today as I was driving down first avenue which leads right straight to the Temple. So as I was driving toward the Temple head on I noticed that the air was clean and that you could see the mountains really clear. It made it look like they were just behind the temple. So there was God's creation beautiful as ever behind the house of the Lord. As I was getting closer just passing through Mesa Drive then all of of a sudden the temple was lit by the sun but everything else remained in the shadow of the looming dark clouds that threatened storm. Then on the way home tonight there was this amazing lightening storm. It was breath taking. Lightening was striking every which way and lighting up the sky with streaks of blue and white! There is where the true beauty of the desert lies. There is nothing else like it anywhere.

Life

Life can be interesting sometimes. As I watch everyone and their struggles it reminds you to pray. When you pray you can feel peace and you remember your blessings. There are a lot of people around me going through trials just as Spencer and I are. Lately I have been just thinking about ours and why ours aren't even cared about by others. Today I read about a couple who were in a private plane crash and one of them is burned over about 38 % his body and the wife was burned around 80 % of her body. Her kids are in Utah with family and that has to be hard. Hard on the people taking care of them and hard on the kids. A sister that has the three older, and has a newborn reminded me of Pres. Hinckley's saying by his father, "Forget yourself and go to work." I need to do more service to help myself feel better and so that my family can be blessed. Also along with that I need to stop murmuring about my trials. Even though they come one right after another. They are learnig experiences and this life isnt meant to be easy.
