Homemade Fun

Today I had a fun time making canned food rotaters. I made them out of 12 pk soda boxes. I cute a hole on the top in the back to easy drop in new cans. It makes organizing and storing simple. I labeled what kind of canned food it was in the front. It will be so much easier finding that can of soup that is needed for your recipe. Also today I made "soft scrub" for my bathroom. I mixed baking soda, vinegar, lemon oil, water and dawn dish soap and mixed it all together. It makes a soft, fluffy paste. I am so excited to use it! I love how most of it is natural, minus the dawn, but dawn is gentle and safe!

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent

Tonight I made dishwasher detergent. I am so excited to use it. It costs .06 cents per load. For me this is exciting and another perk is that it's natural! I mixed: 1 cup super washing soda 1 cup Borax Powder 5 packets of lemon kool-ade 1/2 cup of kosher salt Then in the jet dry or rinse aid compartment in the dishwasher I filled it with white vinegar. I had everything in my house except for the kool-ade. We are not big drinkers of the stuff. The best part is, it cleaned the inside of my dishwasher as it washed the dishes! I really recommend this recipe. It's easy to make and easy to store. All you need is 1 TBSP per load of the mixture.

Natural Medicine Doctor

We were so excited to find out that Spencer's Pharmacology Teacher is a natural medicine doctor. He has many other degrees as well. But this was awesome to hear. He does not take care of current students but I hope we can have a chat with him sometime later!

New Discipline

So I have started a new way of disciplining and Rylee and Connor were able to try it out yesterday. They decided to hit each other and so since they hit they got to copy pg 272 in the Children's songbook. For those of you who don't know, its called "I have Two Little Hands". This is how it goes: I have two little hands folded snuggly and tight they're tiny and weak but they know what is right. During all the long hours till day light is through, there's plenty of things for my two hands to do. The other part is they get to clean out the bathroom cabinets. They have not hit each other since. And this is usually a problem with them. Then tonight, Spencer had to tell Rylee three times to do something. So what she got to do was copy down Colossians 3:20 which says, Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. She was able to write most of it herself! Unfortunately Connor enjoyed copying the song he had to do yesterday. But they seem to understand this!!!

Today I made my own apple juice with a jack La Lane juicer! It's so delicious and natural and does not have any sugar added! I am going to make muffins from the pulp that was left behind after the juicing! I am so excited for my juice...I know I am lame

Pressure Cooker Broth

My friend Jen gave me an awesome soup recipe that includes making your own broth from a whole chicken. This sounded so yummy, but then she told me she makes it in her crockpot. Sadly, my crockpot went the ways of the Earth a while ago so I no longer have one. I, however have an electric pressure cooker, who just happens to be my best friend lol. So, I went to work on looking up how to pressure cook broth! What I found was that a lady did an experiment between her pressure cooker and her crockpot for broth. What she found was her broth with the pressure cooker was clear and smooth and gelled just right. Her 8 hrs cooked broth from the crockpot was not as clear and smooth and she was shocked by her findings. I am going to attempt this myself this next week!

The Gasp Diet

Yesterday a dear friend saw my blog and shared with me her new "diet". Little did she know that I have had some concerns with Rylee and her digestion ever since she was born. We have also had some concerns with her learning and her focusing abilities. So I am going to gather as much information as I can for the GASP diet. It's simple ans sounds yummy! Thank you Jen for sharing!!

Staying Healthy

We are still trying to keep sickness away with our essential oils! Crossing my fingers, I still have not been to the Emergency Department yet since the start of using essential oils. We have tried to cut out a lot of chemical use in our daily activities. Its hard to cut out all will our budget lol. But we are trying.
